In Topic: What was the most screwed you were for an exam?

21 January 2014 - 01:07 PM

Okay, so this was back in HS during a physics midterm (oral/practical, not sure if midterm is the correct word as it didn't count but whatever). I had studied a bit, but upon arriving at school, an hour before my exam, I realized that astronomy was one of the topics that we could draw, and since I didn't know it was a possibility I obviously hadn't studied for it either. It didn't bother me too much, I actually find astronomy very interesting. So I study for an hour, am feeling great and am actually hoping I draw questions related to astronomy. Sure enough, I go in and I draw astronomy questions - and then I forget everything I had just studied. I couldn't get a single word out.. 2 minutes pass (felt like a lifetime) and I'm like :
"Uh... I really need some water."

So my teacher runs out of the room to get me some.. And the co-examiner is just starring at me:

"So where are you from? Afghanistan?"

Teacher comes back, I drink the water and leave. Needless to say I failed :'( :P

This happened last year:

A very important exam, and I had studied really hard. Set up my laptop and its fan is really loud - like it always is. My friend comments on it and I jokingly say "yeah, let's just hope it doesn't overheat during the exam."

An hour into the exam, computer fucking overheats - and it won't switch on at all (first time this happened btw, if I knew I'd have brought a different comp). They call the IT guy who takes a look at it but since he can't fix it he gets me a new one to borrow. All progress from the first hour, lost and this guy spent at least 30 minutes trying to fix the computer/getting me a new one etc. So I start doing the exam on paper to save time thinking I'd be able to write it into the word document rather quickly. - Only problem is, for some reason I can't add square brackets in the word document, so I have to waste additional time using the 'equations' tool to add them. I had done the entire exam on paper but didn't have the time to copy it all into the word document before time was up, and of course they didn't give me just 5 extra minutes despite knowing what had happened and all. Still bitter about about that one. I got a good grade but I'm sure I could've done better had I not been screwed over.

LOL lahori! Read this elsewhere, made me laugh: "I wonder how they made it to the post-match presentation with all that poor light."
